What is the difference between printf and scanf?
Both are C standard I/O functions declared in stdio.h. printf writes formatted output to stdout and returns the number of characters printed. scanf reads formatted input from stdin into variables, so you pass their addresses (&x), and it returns the number of items successfully read.
What is an RDBMS?
A relational database management system stores data in tables of rows and columns, links tables through primary and foreign keys, enforces integrity constraints, supports ACID transactions and is queried with SQL. Examples: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle and SQL Server.
Explain SQL joins.
INNER JOIN returns rows with matching keys in both tables. LEFT JOIN returns all left-table rows plus matches (NULLs where none); RIGHT JOIN is the mirror. FULL OUTER JOIN returns all rows from both tables. CROSS JOIN gives the Cartesian product, and a self join joins a table to itself.
What is inheritance?
Inheritance lets a child class acquire the fields and methods of a parent class, giving code reuse and an is-a relationship (Car extends Vehicle).
